Writing Classes for 2016

The Creative Writer’s Life
A series of 6 writing classes each tailored to a specific area for the new and blossoming writer.  Classes include memoir, writer’s tools and tricks, strong characters, screenwriting, food critique and how to get published. No class is a prerequisite to the other, and new students are welcome at any point. Each 2-hour class includes a PowerPoint presentation, in class participation.

Writing Your Life’s Story: Learn how to get your most treasured memories written down for posterity. Instruction includes plot, character, theme, and a step-by-step guide to writing your stories.

Writer’s Tool Box: All the tools, skills and mindset you need to start your writing career. Instruction includes tricks and tips to keep writing, what to read, where to write and how to get your best prose out into the world.

How to Write Strong Characters: This class teaches how to build a complete profile for each character and let them drive your plot.

Screenwriting for the Soul: Tips, ideas, skill set and more to write your script and sell it to Hollywood or produce it yourself.

Will Write for Food: This class is held at a local restaurant where students dine, taste wine pairings, talk with Chef and then write on the experience. Instruction includes submission and tips to write for local publications. Class will meet at a local restaurant that has yet to be determined.

Promoting Your Writing. Tips for blogging, magazine, e-publishing, and pitching your work. Instruction includes ideas for script distribution, agents, and marketing your published work.
